This may be a transfer from a foreign account to a BFI account (the request must then be made to the foreign bank), or a transfer from an BFI account to a foreign account (the request must then be made to the BFI Bank).

Documentary Credit (CREDOC)

For all your international transactions, the BFI Bank assists you as issuing bank for your documentary credits.

It will always propose a solution adapted to your type of activity (import or export). For more information, please contact your account manager.

Advantages

• Provides the exporter with a bank commitment from the importer’s bank, separate from the actual payment from the importer (the bank committing itself to make the payment, even if the importer has difficulties)
• Provides assurance to the importer that payment of their bank will be made only once the seller shows proof he has properly performed all of his contractual obligations.
